Krispy Kreme celebrates 75th birthday with new doughnuts

Krispy Kreme has launched new birthday doughnuts just in time for its 75th anniversary celebration this weekend.

At participating stores in the U.S. and Canada, Krispy Kreme now features a chocolate iced birthday doughnut, strawberry iced birthday doughnut and white iced birthday doughnut.

Krispy Kreme's food and beverage packaging also is acknowledging the 75th anniversary milestone.

The company will host a street party celebration on Trade Street in downtown Winston-Salem, N.C., July 13 from 7-10 p.m. On July 14, Krispy Kreme will host the Family FanFest in Old Saleem from 9 a.m. to noon. Additionally, on July 13 only, customers can buy one dozen doughnuts and get a dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts for 75 cents.

Finally, Krispy Kreme is searching for fans wearing the brand's iconic paper hat as part of its Hat Hat Hooray! promotion, which includes the chance to win a trip for two to any Krispy Kreme location. Fans who take a picture while wearing the brand's paper hat will be entered for a chance to win. One winner will be chosen from each of the 16 participating countries.
