Long John Silver’s celebrates Talk like a Pirate Day

Long John Silver's is bringing back its annual Talk Like a Pirate Day celebration Sept. 19, offering free food and pirate-themed giveaways at participating restaurants nationwide, the company announced in a news release.

Guests who talk like a pirate can receive a free piece of the chain's hand-battered fish or a Chicken Plank, while customers who arrive dressed as pirates can score a free two-piece fish or chicken basket. Restaurants will also hand out one of three temporary pirate-themed tattoo designs while supplies last.

"Talk Like a Pirate Day is one of our favorite Long John Silver's traditions, and every year our guests make it even more fun," said Laura Ellis, chief marketing officer, in a press release. "We see people come through our doors ready to celebrate with their best pirate voice, creative costumes and plenty of pirate spirit. We love seeing that enthusiasm, and we're excited to give guests even more ways to be part of the celebration this year."
