New app gives customers menu, nutritional info across brands

App users can to view detailed nutrition information for each entree and search for selections that meet specific dietary requirements.

Compass Group North America is rolling out a mobile dining application that allows customers to explore menu options, nutritional information, hours of operation, news, promotions and special events at cafes and dining centers nationwide. Customers also can provide direct feedback to cafe management through the app.

The app is available for iPhone and Android devices.

The app pulls content, data and images from existing dining center websites. Users are able to view detailed nutrition information for each entree and search for selections that meet specific dietary requirements.

The app also will soon include ordering and loyalty rewards program features, according to Mike DeMarco, Compass Group's vice president of Field Systems Solutions.

"This app was developed to meet the evolving and diverse needs of our customers, and we're delivering on the power of personalization by providing tailored content based on individual consumers' tastes and preferences," DeMarco said in a news release. "Personalization and mobility are increasingly important components of the customer dining experience, and the release of this app is a natural extension of our vision to develop innovative tools that enhance that experience."
