Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, a division of AFC Enterprises Inc., announced September as "Love That Chicken Month." To celebrate, Popeyes is offering two pieces of chicken and a biscuit for the promotional price of $2.99.
Throughout September, which is also "National Fried Chicken Month," a Popeyes chorus will be featured for the national campaign, and the company is inviting guests to virtually join in at Popeyes.com. According to a press release, Popeyes is hoping to create "the world's largest virtual chorus ever assembled."
Participants may upload original Vine, Instagram and YouTube videos of their versions of the Popeyes' theme song, "Love that Chicken from Popeyes." Guests can sing all month-long with Popeyes' "Love That Chicken Month" national television commercial starring spokeswoman "Annie" along with the chorus.
"Our delicious food always gives our guests something to sing about, and now they will be able to literally join the chorus," said Hector Munoz, vice president of Marketing. "'Love that Chicken' has been an anthem of Popeyes' guests for more than 35 years and now, we're providing an offer that will inspire another 35 years of continued loyalty."
Each week, Popeyes will highlight 12 video entries called "The Spicy Dozen" to showcase participants. The videos will then be judged based on creativity and adherence to theme, and prizes will be awarded for each of the social platforms (Vine, Instagram and YouTube). Prizes include $1,000 (first place), a wireless Bluetooth speaker (second place) or a Popeyes T-shirt, karabiner and $25 Popeyes gift check (third place).

Additionally, throughout September, Popeyes guests who upsize their combo beverage will receive a Sprite promotional cup. By texting the 12-digit unique code found on the cup they will be entered for a chance to win a "VIP Trip to an Exclusive Sprite concert in New Orleans in February 2014. Also, each unique code will provide an opportunity for guests to download a free song, or the "Love That Chicken from Popeyes " ringtone for compatible mobile devices.
