QSR International has partnered with Punchh to launch a mobile rewards app and website. The app, called SMART CLUB, has debuted in Spanish and is currently available for QSR International's restaurants within Costa Rica, including 32 KFC's, 28 Quiznos, two Smashburgers, and five Teriyaki Experience units.
According to a news release, QSR International plans to deploy the rewards app and website to its restaurants in 14 additional countries in 2015.
Punchh's mobile platform features a cloud-based POS-integrated platform. SMART CLUB gives guests the ability to earn and redeem rewards for each restaurant brand based on what tier they achieve based on their spending levels, as well as provide real-time feedback to the operator. The app also gives customers the chance to post reviews and share them with their social media network. Additionally, there is a gamification feature that allows customers to "catch falling food items" to earn points for rewards.
"Our customers are rapidly adopting smartphones. The SMART CLUB branded mobile app and website will enable us to engage our customers in real-time in and out of our stores," QSR International President Richard Eisenberg said in the release. "With an in-app game, rewards, reviews, social media integration and more, QSR International's SMART CLUB app will be an invaluable tool for the company in painting a more complete picture of who their guests are. We expect to increase same-store sales and profitability using this new platform."
