In an effort to make it easier for customers with food allergies and restrictions to eat at its restaurants, Quiznos has added an "Interactive Allergy Menu" tool to its U.S. website and mobile phone applications.
To use the new feature, customers select foods/ingredients they're allergic to or wish to avoid, prompting applicable menu options to pop up. Customers can choose from hundreds of combinations of items to be avoided including the eight major allergen groups. Customers may also choose to avoid ingredients such as MSG and Sulfites.
The mobile application is set up to display options in tandem with the way the ordering protocol is set up at a typical Quiznos store. For example, a customer, after entering their restrictions on their smartphone device, is first prompted about available bread options; then the available dressings/sauce options; and then the meat options to coincide with the workflow of the sandwich preparation process. According to the company, this setup reduces potential delays that may be caused by customers not sure about acceptable ingredient options while in the ordering queue.
The Interactive Allergy Menus were developed and customized for Quiznos by Gipsee Inc., a Colorado company that develops and customizes restriction-based dining solutions. The menus are available at quiznos.com/menu/restaurant.
