Restaurant chains are leaning into delivery-driven promotions to capture Labor Day weekend spending, using limited-time freebies, buy-one-get-one offers and minimum-order incentives to give customers more value. Grubhub's Labor Day lineup includes promotions from major brands such as McDonald's, Popeyes, Wendy's and Taco Bell, reflecting the continued push to use delivery platforms as a way to drive incremental orders during key occasions.
The Sept. 4-7 promotions range from free menu items with qualifying purchases to BOGO offers. McDonald's, for example, is offering BOGO 6-piece McNuggets throughout the weekend, while Taco Bell is giving customers a free Nachos Bell Grande with a $22 minimum order. Wendy's and Popeyes also are offering free items on qualifying Friday orders.
The promotional push extends to Grubhub+ members, who get additional deals from brands including Burger King, Dunkin', Chipotle, KFC and Pizza Hut. Grubhub also is offering $0 delivery and service fees on restaurant orders over $50, adding another incentive for consumers to order in during the holiday weekend.
The range of promotions highlights how restaurant brands and delivery platforms are increasingly using value-based offers around major holidays and high-traffic occasions to compete for consumer spending.
