Whataburger celebrates anniversary with deals

Whataburger is celebrating its 76th anniversary throughout August with weekly app-exclusive deals for its rewards members, including 76-cent specials and a buy-one, get-one offer on National Whataburger Day.

To commemorate the milestone, the San Antonio-based fast-food chain is offering a different 76-cent menu item every Wednesday in August for members of its Whataburger Rewards program.

The weekly Wednesday deals include a Taquito with Cheese on Aug. 5 from 6 to 11 a.m., a 16-ounce Whatafresher on Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., a Big Ranch Wrap on Aug. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and a Signature Chicken Sandwich on Aug. 26 from 5 to 10 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 8, designated as National Whataburger Day, rewards members can receive a buy-one, get-one-free Whataburger entree between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. local time. Participating restaurants will also feature selfie stations, balloons and other festive decorations.

"Whether you've been ordering the same Whataburger for years or you've been waiting for the perfect excuse to try something new, we're celebrating the Guests who've made the last 76 years so special. Consider these weekly surprises our way of saying thank you."

All promotions are limited to one redemption per account and must be claimed through the Whataburger app.

Founded in 1950 by Harmon Dobson, Whataburger currently operates more than 1,100 restaurants across 17 states.
