Sonic Drive-In selects mobile commerce provider

October 2, 2013

Today CARDFREE announced that it has been selected by Sonic Drive-In as its mobile commerce platform.

Sonic has more than 3,500 drive-ins serving approximately 3 million customers every day, according to a company press release.

CARDFREE is partnering with Sonic to create a unique mobile experience for the brand's customers, which will provide standalone features as well as an integrated experience at each location.

The Sonic mobile solution will be piloted later this year with expected systemwide deployment in 2014.

CARDFREE’s commerce platform was designed to help merchants drive incremental visits, larger ticket size, tender preference and more meaningful consumer engagements, the company said. CARDFREE launched nine months ago specifically to serve the merchante market.

"We selected CARDFREE because their team is unmatched for their experience in deploying national mobile solutions and their platform was the most robust in the marketplace," said Craig Miller, CIO for Sonic Corp. "We're looking forward to launching an industry-changing, and uniquely integrated, mobile solution that will enhance the way we engage with our customers."

"Sonic is the most differentiated brand in the QSR space and we are thrilled to be working with their team on a mobile experience that is unique to their brand," added Jon Squire, CEO of CARDFREE.
