March 9, 2006

ATLANTA — The SUBWAY restaurant chain has named NCR Corp. an approved point-of-sale (POS) solution provider. According to a news release, the NCR RealPOS 70 product line will be sold to the SUBWAY chain's 24,000 worldwide franchisees exclusively through Subtotal POS Systems Ltd., a Nova Scotia-based reseller.

Subtotal's arrangement with NCR will allow the company to offer a fully integrated POS solution designed specifically for the QSR environment.

According to a news release, the NCR RealPOS 70 is built around Intel's EmbeddedATX specification, providing a stable POS platform and extended lifecycle through the use of an industry-standard motherboard design. The 2.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processors will be offered with a 15-inch touchscreen.
