Fred DeLuca, president and co-founder of Subway Restaurants, is one of several franchisors who will deliver a keynote presentation at the 20th annual Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) National Convention, to be held at the Sheraton on the Falls in Niagara Falls from April 3-5.
More than 300 franchising leaders and support service professionals are expected to attend the event to share best practices, network and celebrate Canada's top franchise systems.
The CFA National Convention will feature five Keynote Speakers:
• Donald Cooper, president of The Donald Cooper Corporation will speak on how to create a clear business vision at 5 p.m. April 3.
• Fred DeLuca, president and co-founder of Subway Restaurants will deliver a keynote presentation at 8:30 a.m. April 4. DeLuca will share his simple but essential recipe for franchise success and the inspiring story of Subway Restaurants.
• Greg Nathan, managing director of Franchise Relationships Institute, will speak at 9:30 a.m. April 4 to educate attendees on creating profitable partnerships between franchisors and franchisees. Nathan has been named by USA Franchise Times as one of the Top 10 thought-leaders in franchising.
• At 9:30 a.m. April 5, Randy Moore, president & CEO of Mister Transmission will reveal the secret to leading a more exciting, energizing and successful life, both in business and on a personal level.
• Sherry McNeil, VP of Franchise Development and Design for Dairy Queen Canada, will deliver the closing address at 1 p.m. April 5.
The winner of the industry's highest honor, the CFA Award of Excellence in Franchising, will be announced at an awards presentation dinner on April 4.
That same evening, the CFA Recognition Awards will be presented, including CFA Hall of Fame Award for outstanding performance and leadership by a franchise company over a significant period of time; CFA Lifetime Achievement Award; CFA Corporate Citizenship Award for philanthropic innovation, support and impact to the community; and the Vince Nichols Memorial Award for entrepreneurial spirit and dedication as a volunteer.
Subway Fit Kits available online
The Subway Fit Kits are now available online through the Subway Kids website. According to International Business Times, these kits were previously only available for teachers and educators, but because of increased demand, they're now downloadable for the public.
The kits include a teacher's calendar/planner, which includes classroom activities; a poster that kids can sign to track their progress with stickers; and a parent/guardian letter that encourages healthy choices and includes details about the program.
Subway Kids has also partnered with National Geographic Kidsto provide colorful, fun reusable bags and activity cards free with the purchase of any Subway Fresh Fit for Kids meal. Activity cards include an online code that unlocks bonus features on the website.
