Bojangles stirs a little online action into its 'sweet tea'

Bojangles is jumping on the beverage bandwagon in the run-up to this Sunday, National Iced Tea Day, by offering a 32-ounce sweet tea for one buck all weekend.

A news release said the "down South" brand is known for its sweetened iced tea and like many brands currently tapping the promotional value of beverage sales, Bojangles is also using its leading liquid to kick off its summer sales.

"Our Legendary iced tea is refreshing any time of year, but especially during these upcoming summer months," Bojangles Senior Vice President of Marketing Randy Poindexter said in the release.

Today through Sunday the brand is doing this longtime southern favorite right on social media by "taking over" Instagram with all things Sweet Tea. The brand is prompting customers to follow its doings on Instagram this weekend to win prizes, including a pair of VIP tickets to the 2019 Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach or four 2018 Gold Season Passes to the Carowinds amusement park outside Charlotte.

It's also pushing its E-Club through the promotion by giving a free half-gallon of the tea with any purchase to those who join the club through the brand's participating locations. Bojangles has 762 locations, with 326 operated by the company and the remainder franchised in the southeastern U.S.
