Subway is moving its National Sandwich Day celebration to Oct. 27, one week ahead of Election Day, with the return of two fan-favorite menu items and a buy-one-get-one Footlong promotion for Sub Club members. The company announced in a press release that the limited-time lineup includes its Fritos Chicken Enchilada Sub, last offered in 2014, and the Caramel Apple Cookie, which returns after its last appearance in 2021.

"We weren't going to let National Sandwich Day become an afterthought," Jeff Klein, chief marketing officer at Subway, said in the release. "Especially with the Fritos Chicken Enchilada Sub making a comeback that our fans and franchisees have been asking for. So, we're giving sandwiches their own day in the spotlight, one week early."

The returning Fritos Chicken Enchilada Sub features rotisserie-style chicken marinated in enchilada sauce, crunchy Fritos corn chips, Baja Chipotle sauce, Monterey Cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes and red onions. The Caramel Apple Cookie offers a seasonal dessert option made with apple pieces, caramel chips and salted caramel crunch, finished with a caramel icing drizzle.

Subway also is offering Sub Club members a free Footlong with the purchase of another Footlong of equal or lesser price. The deal runs Oct. 27 through Nov. 8 and is available to current and new members ordering through the Subway app or website at participating U.S. restaurants. The promotion will remain available on Nov. 3, the traditional National Sandwich Day date.
