Vegetarians take the throne at White Castle

It seems White Castle has a special place in its royal heart for veggie lovers. The chain has added two vegetarian-friendly LTOs to its spring menu —  Dr. Praeger's black bean slider and cheese nibblers.

The Castle won't banish meat to the dungeon, however; it's created a bacon jam with smoked cheddar slider. The combo of bacon, onions, brown sugar and spices on an original slider, topped with smoked cheddar can be found at all locations, except those in the Chicagoland area.

Although the Windy City may not have that option, Castle cravers in that city are getting a brisket slider that no other markets will see. The Chicagoland LTO includes smoked brisket, barbecue sauce and onion crisps.

"Only a true slider innovator can create experiences that keep customers craving for 96 years and counting," White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson, said in a news release. "Don't miss out on these bold new sliders, especially a vegetarian option."
