Carl's Jr. is taking aim at Burger King with its limited-time "Stealing the Crown" promotion, the company has announced in a news release. The promotion invites My Rewards members to submit a photo of a discarded crown or a qualifying competitor's receipt via Instagram for a chance to receive a complimentary Angus Maximus burger.
The promotion, which runs through Sept. 25, is limited to the first 100 eligible entries and supports the chain's new cooked-to-order initiative, which emphasizes freshness and quality over traditional burger holding systems.
"Carl's Jr. believes the next burger battle will be won on quality," Burge Diemer, chief marketing officer at Carl's Jr., said in the press release. "A burger worth fighting for shouldn't be waiting for you in a holding cabinet — it should hit the grill when you order it."
The 5.7-ounce Angus Maximus, available for $5.99 for a limited time, features two charbroiled Angus beef patties, American cheese, onions, pickles and special sauce on a toasted brioche bun.
