Krispy Kreme has signed a five-year development and franchise agreement to open up to 25 units across the Baltic States between 2026 and 2030, expanding its footprint in Northern Europe.
APL Sweets OÜ, a subsidiary of Estonia-based Apollo Group, will develop the stores in three formats. The first location is planned for Tallinn, Estonia, by the end of 2026, according to a press release.
The agreement grants APL Sweets an option, exercisable through Dec. 31, 2027, to enter a separate development and franchise agreement for Finland.
"We're excited to bring Krispy Kreme's fresh, iconic doughnuts to Estonia in partnership with Apollo Group, an experienced restaurant operator with strong knowledge of the local market," Josh Charlesworth, Krispy Kreme CEO, said in a statement. "This marks an important step in our continued expansion in Europe and reinforces our commitment to sustainable, profitable growth through our capital-light franchise model."
Founded in 1937, Krispy Kreme operates in more than 40 countries. Apollo Group's foodservice portfolio in the Baltic States and Finland includes Lido, Vapiano, KFC, MySushi, Blender, Delano and CAN CAN Pizza.
